WALKING IN GRACE
COMMUNITY CHURCH
The Bible is the foundation and the core of what we believe, practice, and teach. It is the ultimate source of authority in our church. Guides our leadership, decisions, strategy and conduct. God has the first and last word in all directional matters of the church, to the best of our ability to listen to His leading.
(Acts 17; I Corinthians 9:19-23) We believe that the message of the Bible is timeless and unchanging. Yet, the means and methods of communicating the truth of Scripture are always changing. We desire to creatively communicate the Gospel in ways that make it relevant, meaningful, and engaging.
(John 15:8; Acts 4:4:; II Peter 3:18) When something stops growing it starts dying. This is true in our personal lives as well as the church as a whole. We believe that we should be continually striving to mature in the depth and quality of our faith, as well as reaching out to touch and reach others with the gospel message.
(Mark 12:30-31; Psalm 51) We believe that healthy relationships and a healthy church demand that its members are transparent and genuine. This includes acknowledging our strengths and weakness, as well as dealing with one another in love and honesty.
(I Corinthians 12:4-6; Ephesians 4:11-16) The church does not exist to simply "feed" its members, but each member has a responsibility to serve and share their gifts and talents for the overall health of the church. Every member has been gifted by God, and has a valuable role to play in helping the church achieve its mission.
(Psalm 127:1; Zech 4:6) We have a responsibility to be active and diligent in our spiritual walk and service. Yet, we acknowledge that our strength and success is totally dependent upon the Holy Spirit working in us and through us.
(Colossians 3:17; Proverbs 27:17) In every aspect of the church we do things with excellence. High quality, well prepared, organized and well executed. We believe that excellence honors God and inspires people. This includes the concepts of evaluation, critical review, intensity and excellence.
